I grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi, where I spent years working alongside my grandfather in our family's electrical, plumbing, and laundromat business. That work meant walking into homes with failing wiring, rusted pipes, and rooms overtaken by mold, and leaving them functional again by the end of the day. I served as the laundromat's repair technician, kept the machines our neighbors relied on for clean clothes running, and volunteered my time helping seniors with small home repairs around town. When school kept me away, I trained and led a small team to keep that work going in my absence, which taught me engineering fundamentals long before I set foot in a classroom.
That early, hands-on grounding in how physical systems actually fail and get fixed is what drew me to mechanical engineering at Purdue University. Since then, I have carried that same problem-solving instinct through internships at Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and the Air Force Research Laboratory, and through founding Purdue Space Program Indianapolis from the ground up. My goal is to take that foundation into a career leading large-scale manufacturing operations, with an eye toward the systems that will one day make manufacturing in space possible.
